BPSK Software Comparsions

In this test I have used the same file for each run through path sim with same levels with AFC turned off when I could , I retuned on each run through the simulator to help ensure I was on frequency through the whole test.  I did three batches a run per software in uppercase and lowercase set of letters to get a better average incase of any human errors or errors from the hardware itself. I also ran about 4 lines of letters through the similator in one batch to help ensure that all letters seen different variables on the fades.

In the first set of test there is a upper case and lower case letters. I used  a mid lattitude settings with moderate fading situation with 0 SNR setting. The numbers you seen below is the amount of errors that happened in a batch. Errors come from letters not decoding correctly and/or spaces not decoding correctly

For reasons I do not understand the DM780 does really well for certain situations and worse in other situations. FLDIGI being the worst in this last test. Now I will check for sensitivity

We can see here that DM780 is the most senstive at -12DB SNR with a direct path

There seems to be a trade off on MixW less sensitivty but more stable in harsh multipath moments.

DM780 seems to shine better on paths that are more stable.

But here are the scores for all the software averaging all overall scores together of upper and lower case averages and all three conditions.

Looks like the clear winner of the overall decoding goes to DM780 for three different conditions and upper and lower case letters, all averaged out.

As you can see it does not make differance on the input volume.

Conclusion
Probably could come up with ten thousands scenarios to make a different overall winner, but that is impossible for me to do. But it is evidence there is a difference in software
For reasons beyond me I am not sure why some software seems to work better than others for, I was under the impression that most of the software was using the same DLL file for decoding BPSK. I also do not understand why one software does better than another on multipath moments.

In the test I tried my best to ensure that it was a fair test inbetween all of the software , always using the same audio file and levels was never changed etc and always using the same sound card.  in the test I also retuned about three times before I recorded the results to help ensure It was tuned properly.

It would be interesting to see the differences using different sound cards that have different SNR on TX and RX to see if that makes any differences on weaker signals, I have a hunch it would make a difference especially on the very weakests signals , but I have no proof of this.
